Abstract: Ba(6-3x)Sm(8+2x)Ti(18)O(54) (x=2/3) (BST) was prepared by the solid-state method and the effect of bismuth borate (BB)/LiF on the sinterability, microstructure, and thermal and microwave dielectric properties were studied. BST+3.5 wt% BB+0.5 wt% LiF composite sintered at 1050 degrees C has Q x f=4500 GHz, epsilon=52, and tau(f)=+6 ppm/degrees C. Raman spectrum of the composite was compared with that of BST and the structural changes were investigated.
