dc.description.abstractMicrostructural tailoringofkaolinfoamswassuccessfullyperformedfromkaolinclaymineralbysurfactantassistedfoamingtechniqueusing the anionicsurfactantsodiumdodecylsulfate(SDS).ThefoamswerepreparedviafrothingofaqueouskaolinsuspensionwithSDSsolutionsof different concentrationandthestabilityofthefoamwasimprovedbyinsitupolymerizationofmethylol-ureatoureaformaldehyderesin. Furthermore, theeffectofsurfactantconcentrationonslurryfoamingcharacteristicsandthecorrespondingchangeintheporemorphologyofthe dried foamswereinvestigated.Theresultshowedthattheporesize,porevolumeandinterconnectivitychangedwiththeincreasedamountof SDS.
