Abstract: | The block copolymer with functional small molecules formed via non-covalent interactions has tremendous appeal in various fields of applications. When the functional small molecules were attached to one of the blocks of the block copolymer, it can produce hierarchical structures with built-in functionality. This technique enables for the generation of controlled nanostructures in the solid-state, and also creates nanoporous templates by selective dissolution of small molecules. In this featured paper, we review the recent trends of block copolymer-based supramolecules in the self-assembly process of organic semiconductors and nano-particles within the block copolymer domains in bulk and thin films. |
