dc.description.abstract | Components made of metallic materials with superior mechanical properties are of high demand in this modern era. Different processes and techniques are used to get improved mechanical properties of the metallic materials such as semisolid casting, ultrasonic melt treatment, friction stir processing and severe plastic deformation processes. It is observed that the selection of a particular method for processing of a component mainly depends on the factors, viz., material properties, size and shape of component and other economic factors. The parameters to be optimised for the productive operation of each of these processes are also reported in this paper. | en_US |
