dc.description.abstract A mild and efficient one-step procedure for the upper rim modification of calix[4]arene via a bis(spirodienone) is described. The bis(spirodienone) on reaction with alcohols in the presence of p-TSA affords mono- and 1,3-disubstituted alkoxy derivatives in moderate to good yields. en_US
