dc.description.abstract In this paper, we have reported the synthesis of a highly efficient TiO2 nanoparticle loaded mesoporous γ-Al2O3 catalyst for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange under sunlight exposure. Pure anatase TiO2 nanoparticles were formed in the interconnected mesoporous matrix of γ-Al2O3. The synthesized catalysts were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction method, surface area and porosimetry analysis, particle size analysis and transmission electron microscopy. The photocatalytic property of the synthesized catalysts were investigated towards the degradation of methyl orange under sunlight exposure and monitored by UV-visible spectrophotometer. Synthesized catalysts showed high photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methyl orange. High photocatalytic activity under sunlight exposure, simple method of preparation and cost effectiveness make this catalyst an attractive candidate for photocatalytic dye degradation reactions en_US
